Friendship will recognize high school and college graduates during the 10:30am worship service on June 9, 2024. Graduates participating in this service must complete the registration form below by May 11 to ensure that their accomplishments are recognized. Participating graduates must be members of Friendship.

Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

All applicants must:
● Be a member of Friendship Baptist Church of The Colony
● Be a Graduating High School Student with a Grade Point Average of 3.0 or above
● Be an active member of one or more ministries at FBCTC
Applicant Requirements
● Applicants must submit a copy of acceptance letter from the higher education institution or vocational school they plan to attend after graduating high school. NOTE: If an applicant has not received official notification prior to submitting the application, he/she MUST send acceptance documentation to Scholarship@fbc-tc.org by May 5 to receive any awarded funds.
● Applicants must submit at least one letter of recommendation from someone familiar with the applicant's character, service, and achievements. (e.g., coach, high school teacher, or employer).
● Applicants must submit at least one letter of recommendation from someone familiar with the applicant's ministry involvement. (e.g., Sunday School Teacher, Pastor, Youth Minister, Deacon, Ministry Leader).
● Applicants must write an essay that does not include the applicant's name (or any family member's name) or any personal identifiable information. The essay must be 500-700 words describing how being a member of FBCTC has enhanced your Christian experience. Include how this experience has impacted your everyday life during high school. In addition, please describe your educational and career goals beyond high school.

Deacon Peterson was a husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and a friend to many. He had a passion for the LORD and the work of His Kingdom. He served faithfully wherever and whenever necessary. He was a man of integrity and strong work ethic. Deacon Peterson could be found serving the LORD, providing for his family, or watching TV.

Deacon J.J. Peterson Memorial Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

All applicants must:

  • Be a Graduating High School Student
  • Be an active member of at least ONE Youth Ministry at FBCTC.

  • Applicants must write an essay (including at least one paragraph covering each of the areas below. The essay CANNOT include the applicant's name or any personal identifiable information.

           -Your personal relationship with Jesus (who is Jesus to you?)
          -Integrity (how do you value integrity?)
          -Work ethic (what is your belief on having a job and going to work?)
          -In summary, how do these three areas relate to you?

Joan Elaine Bell Memorial Scholarship Eligibility Requirements



All applicants must:   





  • Must be a member of Friendship Baptist Church of The Colony

  • Have at least a      2.75 GPA




  • Must be an active member of at least ONE Youth Ministry at FBCTC.

The Marshall H. Johnson Memorial Scholarship  

Established in loving memory of an awesome husband and father, who loved hard and was a positive influence in anyone’s life that he came in contact with. He believed that you should work hard, giving of your time, your talent and your resources and most of all love and trust God no matter what! He always stressed two things, keep your priorities straight and always have a sense of humor.

Description:

Kindness is a virtue, or moral quality, characterized by benevolence, compassion, and a desire to do

good. This scholarship is being awarded as a tribute to an extremely kind man – the father of Sis. Sherri

Sistrunk. Pastor Jesse L. Massey was a kind husband, a kind father, a kind brother, and an

extraordinarily kind individual in his community. The Sistrunk Family will be awarding two $500

scholarships to two graduating high school seniors who have demonstrated kindness.


All Applicants:

● Must be a Graduating High School Student

1. Are you saved? If yes, how do you know you are saved?

2. If you are saved, how has your salvation encouraged you to be kind? Provide specific examples of your kind acts or deeds.

3. Even if one is saved, we still fall short; nobody is perfect. Describe a situation where you were unkind.

▪ Why did you behave unkindly?

▪ How did this behavior make you feel?

▪ At what point did you accept the fact that you were not behaving kindly and thus not behaving like a Christian?

▪ What did you do (if anything) to correct the unkind behavior?

4. Do you encourage your family and friends to act kindly? If so, explain how. Provide specific examples.
